We have companion plantings in our own lives made up of the things, people and activities that support and enrich our growth and provide an environment for us to reach our most optimal well-being. These are things that we draw energy from, sustain us during challenging climates, and benefit our body, mind and spirit. Take a moment to think about your companion plantings. They can come from any dimension of your life: community, relationships, spirituality, nutrition, career, exercise and environment to name a few.
Sometimes we neglect our companion plantings and they fall by the wayside. Certainly this can happen in times of stress when we are focused on our current challenge. Yet, it’s during stressful times that we need so desperately to be able to surround ourselves with protection and nourishment in order to handle what we are facing. We need to be supported so that we can come through our challenge balanced, not depleted.
I encourage you to think about those things that are challenging you right now. What parts of your life are you able to draw nourishment, protection and balance from? What are your companion plantings?
